Scholarship Information
This Spring the 100 Club HOT (100 Club) offers multiple academic scholarship opportunities for children of McLennan County First Responders. Every Spring beginning in May children of First Responders attending McLennan Community College (MCC) can apply for a $1000 scholarship sponsored by the 100 Club through the MCC Foundation. The application for this scholarship is announced and posted by MCC and runs from May 1-15, 2026. The 100 Club is offering additional scholarships, for children of McLennan County First Responders to attend any accredited academic institution of higher learning during the next academic year beginning this Fall. Scholarships are awarded under the following priority:
1. Children of a first responder in the 100 Club’s service area killed in the line of duty.
2. Children of a first responder in the 100 Club’s service area permanently disabled due to a line of duty injury or illness.
3. Children of an active duty First Responder in the 100 Club’s service area. These scholarships are for amounts up to $2,000 per selected recipient.
Before submitting for the 100 Club HOT General Scholarships, please review the following definitions:
Children of First Responder defined – includes children of police officers, peace officers, firefighters, deputies, EMTs, corrections officers and dispatchers serving First Responder agencies in McLennan County at the local, State and Federal levels. Also included are children of First Responders residing in McLennan County but working for a First Responder Department/Agency outside McLennan County.
Institution of higher learning – means any accredited college, university, junior college or community college hereafter referred to only as College in Texas or any other state.
Extracurricular Activities includes – high school or college sports, band, choir, debate etc., volunteer work; part time or full-time employment; child or parent care.
